Our Mission

With a results-oriented approach, Nepal Direct Effects provides direct contributions to community-based efforts in Nepal that are already making a difference within their communities.

We are a volunteer staff with no salaries, no perks, just a commitment and vision.

Through our involvement and community service efforts and experience in the USA, Nepal, and abroad, and through our various educations, backgrounds, and professional experiences, we have come to learn of the profound impact focused support can provide when placed in the proper channels, and how effective small-scale donations can be in leading towards long-term, positive change.

We have also come to know first-hand that a large part of the dominant system of top-down community-development work doesn’t work: it’s unrepresentative and ineffective at best, and often hypocritical. Too much of the donated funds somehow get lost along the way in “administrative costs” absent outside review, with a discouragingly low percentage of the original funds actually reaching their intended targets - all in the name of charity, and with other people’s funds.

We offer a credible, effective alternative. We are committed, professional volunteers seeking to be catalysts for positive, peaceful, grass-roots change.

Nepal Direct Effects is a fresh, results-oriented, direct approach to community development in Nepal.
