Located near Vancouver, Washington, Ristokat Cattery was established in 1994 by the husband and wife team of Jon and Kathy Durdick. While remaining a very small cattery, we have been quite successful in the show ring. To date, Ristokat has bred or owned cats who have earned the following CFA awards:
Our goal is to produce healthy, loving, well-socialized kittens who fit the CFA breed standard. We are a PKD-tested cattery. Kittens are raised underfoot, and the girls have the run of the house. The boys are not caged, but do have their own separate rooms, with supervised access to the house as well.
We produce only a few litters each year, and are very selective in their placement - trying our best to match each kitten or cat's unique personality with the "purrfect" new home!
We are both very involved with every facet of the cattery - caring for the cats, deciding on the direction the breeding program will take, showing and most importantly, providing love and chin rubs to all the "kids".
We are both members of CFA's Persian Breed Council (the Himalayan and Tabby Divisions), as well as members of The Atlantic Himalayan Club.
Jon served for several years as the Membership Chairperson for The Atlantic Himalayan Club - a breed club with almost 1,000 members worldwide.
Kathy is a licensed clerk with CFA, and also the associate editor - and regular contributor to - the online magazines PandEcats.com (devoted to the Persian & Exotic), and ShowCatsOnline.com.
